What do you think about Onsen UI 2.0?

  • Hi everyone!

We are currently working on releasing the stable version of Onsen UI 2.0.

There’s still a bunch of things to be done and we would like to get your feedback on the current progress.

You can see Onsen UI 2.0 in its current incarnation here:
    Onsen UI 2.0

Some things we have still not implemented but working on:

    Bindings for Angular 2.0

The beta version of Angular 2.0 was released pretty recently and it looks really good. We want Onsen UI 2.0 to work great together with Angular 2.0 so we’re currently implementing bindings for Angular 2.0 and they will be available pretty soon.

    Other things we’re working on

    • Automatic style based on platform. This means that the components will automatically change their appearance on iOS and Android. On Android they are Material Design while on iOS they will look like the native flat design of iOS apps.
    • Updating iOS styles to conform to the iOS9 design. Some things have changed in iOS9 and we are currently working on refining the iOS styles.
    • Better use of promises. Since we now have access to promises we will make all methods that accept a callback function as an argument to also return a promise that resolves with the same data as the callback is called with.
    • Bindings for React. Because the Onsen UI 2.0 components are operating on the DOM, we need to write some bindings to make them work well with the Virtual DOM of React.

    We need your feedback!

If there are any features that you would like to see in the next version, please tell us and we will consider adding it.

We also love getting bug reports and Pull requests. If you find a bug, please open an issue on GitHub.

gh#1177 In progress! I actually just wanted to show this cool card:

  • Where is the best place to notify you guys about errors in the documentation for 2.0? The live example for <ons-range> has nothing to do with the range object. https://onsen.io/2/reference/ons-range.html

  • Just getting started but I would say you could use more examples in the help.

  • @munsterlander Thanks for pointing this out! I will update the Codepen example. It should be correct when we release the next beta version.

  • @DILEEP-YADAV Thanks! We aim to support devices from Android 4.0+ when we move out of beta.

Are you having trouble when using Crosswalk or just with the native WebView?

  • @argelius

    Ok! sure
