Ons-tab does not switch tabs

I have an Angular2 project where I have a splitter as the top node navigation, then a navigator inside the spillter, and then a tabbar inside the navigator and the tabs doesnt switch tabs. Does the selector for the pagecontent for each of the tabs have to use ons-page as selector?
